A Depressing Coincidence

Tuesday 18th April and it's back to work after the Easter Bank holiday. Recently I'd been given permission to photograph the factory where I worked as part of an urban photographic project. I've always been into abandoned buildings and structures but little did I know that the factory I work in was about to become just that - abandoned!

11:00 am and a letter came round for everyone from the owner informing us of the company's demise due to the low order intake. It was no surprise really but it did catch me out as we'd only been back at work for three hours. Fortunately I had almost finished photographing the factory so I do at least have somewhere in the region of eighty photographs to work with to complete my portfolio - a few more shots wouldn't have gone amiss though!
